Conference Scholarships

MAM is pleased to offer Annual Conference scholarships to its members. Scholarship funds are raised through the MAM Annual Conference auctions, as well as the Montana History Conference silent auction. Thank you to everyone who has ever donated or purchased one of our auction items!

WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP COVER?

  • All registration costs, including the conference, workshops, and tours.
  • Travel and lodging expenses are not covered.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Anyone with an Individual Membership or listed on their organization's institutional membership.

Preference will be given to those who demonstrate financial need, are first-time MAM Annual Conference attendees, or are new to the museum profession.
Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply.
MAM board members are not eligible to apply.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM AWARDED A SCHOLARSHIP?

Recipients are expected to attend the entire conference. If you are awarded your scholarship based on your first-time attendee status, you are required to attend the First Timer's Orientation on Wednesday evening.

Recipients will be introduced during the banquet on Thursday evening, where they will assist with the live auction.

HOW DO I APPLY?

Application deadline: March 7
Applications received after this date will not be considered. 

Before you start your application, think about these questions:

  1. What are your reasons for attending the annual conference? How do they fit into your personal and professional goals?
  2. What is your experience with museums? Are there any special museum projects you have worked on or are currently involved in?
