MAM strives to strengthen all of Montana's Museums

SCHOLARSHIPS

MAM is pleased to continue offering Annual Conference scholarships to its members. Scholarship funds are raised through the MAM Annual Conference live and silent auctions, as well as the Montana History Conference silent auction. Thank you to everyone who has ever donated or purchased one of our auction items!

WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP COVER?

  • All registration costs, including the conference, workshops, and tours.
  • Travel and lodging expenses are not covered.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A SCHOLARSHIP?

  • Anyone with an Individual membership or listed as a member in their museum/institution's bundle.


NOT A MEMBER? REGISTER HERE! 

  • Preference will be given to those who demonstrate financial need, are first-time MAM Annual Conference attendees, or are new to the museum profession.
  • Scholarships are awarded on a one-time basis. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply.
  • MAM board members are excluded from applying.


HOW DO I APPLY?

  • The application period is open from January 1 to February 25. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Before you start your application, think about these questions:
    • What are your reasons for attending the annual conference? How do they fit into your personal and professional goals?
    • What is your experience with museums? Are there any special museum projects you have worked on or are currently involved in?
  • Fill out our quick online application or print, complete, and mail a paper form to PO Box 1451, Helena, MT 59624 (only First Class mail accepted).


WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM AWARDED A SCHOLARSHIP?

  • You will be notified of your award by March 1st. If you haven't already submitted your registration by then, it is due immediately.
  • Recipients are expected to attend the entire conference. If you are awarded your scholarship based on your first-time attendee status, you are required to attend the First Timer's Orientation on Wednesday evening.
  • Recipients will be introduced during the banquet on Thursday evening.
