Gil Jordan is the Executive Director for the Northwest Montana Historical Society and the Museum at Central School in Kalispell since January 2005. He holds a Master of Arts degree from UCLA, and a Bachelor of Science from Cal Poly, Pomona.
Gil and his wife Kim bought 40 acres of wilderness a few miles south of Glacier National Park in 1978, built their own log home, and have lived and worked in the Flathead Valley full time since 1985.
Prior to becoming the director of the Museum in 2005, Gil was a social worker for 13 years at Kalispell’s Lamplighter House, working with adults with serious mental illness; a debate coach at Whitefish High School; the Technical Director of a large and very active Southern California civic theatre, and for 25 years and still active, is a volunteer firefighter with the Coram-West Glacier Fire Department.
Gil is a runner, having completed 35 marathons and 2 ultras (31.2 miles and 50 miles) since 1993, including the 2011 Boston Marathon, and has covered more than 27,000 miles training and racing since 1984.
